Ammarami.com introduces you to the exotic world of African sculptures and baskets from Kenya.

The sculptures are made from wood and soap stone while the baskets are woven from sisal fiber. The wooden carvings are produced by very talented wood carving sculpture artists, mainly from the Akamba tribe. The soapstone carvings are made by scuptor mainly from the Kisii tribe of Kenya. The sculptors who are males derive their living from the sale of these items. Basket weaving is done by women from across the country.

These artisans operate either in well organized groups or as individuals. Their skills are handed down from generation to generation.

The items are unique and beautifully designed. They include face masks, animal wood and stone carvings, hand-woven baskets, African walking sticks, Maasai wood statues, African musical instruments and domestic utensils to mention but a few.
